BEST WAY DOWNTOWN:
Dallas-Fort Worth is located 15 miles (24 km) northwest of downtown Dallas and 20 miles (30 km) northeast of Fort Worth. The airport's solid Web site includes a terminal guide and transportation information.
There are plenty of taxis available to either city. The fare to both Dallas and Fort Worth is about $25-$30, and the trip will take from 25 to 40 minutes.

The fare is based on the postal code of your destination, and ranges from $12 to $18 for any hotel in the downtown area. For example, a trip to the Hyatt Reunion in Dallas costs $12, and to the Worthington in Fort Worth costs $11.
The best deal to Fort Worth is the Airporter Bus Service. It departs from the airport every 30 minutes during the day. The fare to downtown Fort Worth is around $8.

The Dallas-Fort Worth area is very sprawling. If you are going anywhere outside of the downtown areas, a rental car is strongly recommended. All the major rental car agencies are at the airport, but there are no counters in the terminals. Instead, go down to the street level and take a shuttle bus to the rental car lot.
